Our Story
Rama Chikan began with a simple belief: that Lucknow's chikankari embroidery deserves to be worn every day, not saved for special occasions. Every piece we make carries a 200-year-old craft, stitched entirely by hand by artisans who have spent generations perfecting it.
Our Craft
Chikankari is a delicate, labour-intensive embroidery tradition native to Lucknow, India. Each garment passes through many hands and many hours before it reaches you — from tracing the pattern onto fabric, to hand-stitching every motif, to a final wash that softens the cloth and sets the threads.
Our Promise
We work directly with artisan groups in and around Lucknow, so the people doing the embroidery are paid fairly for their skill. We're a young, growing store — new styles are added regularly, and we're always happy to hear from you.
